People who know me know, err... Let's just say I enjoy the finer things in life.
So, some time at the end of last year, I decided that after about 5 years, it was time to change my pillow. It has become lumpy and stainy. Not a pretty sight. So there I was, in Robinsons at Centerpoint, searching for a good pillow. Many technical terms were thrown at my face. 'Micro-fiber', 'memory foam', 'anti bacteria', 'pocketed spring', 'down feather'... I settled on a $100+, memory foam-anti bacteria treated-hypo allergic pillow.
"Very good one" the sales girl said. "You'll surely have a good night's sleep"
Wah... It was damn lousy lor. Obviously, there was something wrong with the pillow's memory coz by the middle of the night, it's totally flat in the middle where my head is and I have to fluff it up again to provide support for my head. Then in the mornings, I wake up with headaches coz the neck wasn't supported at night...
Then this week, there was a bedding sale at a heartland mall. Pillows on sale! $25 for 2!! Good old fashioned sponge pillow. Bought a pair and had my first good night's sleep in months.
So, I've learnt a valuable lesson. Cheap does not mean bad. And expensive & high tech does not mean good. And one day, I might even blog about my clothing finds in a pasar malam.

The best dressed pest exterminators in town
A little unwanted guest crept into the house the other night coz Moses didn't close the door, leaving it open overnight. So this is what happened to it...
Don't you think that the pest exterminators look good?
One is wearing cuff links and the other is wearing a tie!
Gives a whole new meaning to "Dressed to Kill". hahaha.

Sick... Ok, more like sickening
Note to self: chocolates, french fries and a dry cough do NOT mix.
Been coughing lately and it's getting worse. But I couldn't control myself and took some chocolates and french fries and MY OH MY.... It's worse! Lesson learnt. Never am I doing it to myself again. Plain porridge and water from now on. sigh.

WWWedding - Games we play
Twas a bright and early morning when we went to pick up the bride.

We were stopped at the door and made to do silly things... Like yoga poses - in shirt, tie and rather tight, slim-cut dress pants. Thank heavens my pants didn't tear at the butt seams.

Using our feet to dig up mahjong tiles... Truthfully, the games were pretty mild. The bride went for a bargain $288!!!

One last game before he reaches the bride - sing a song!

After the official bridal shots of the couple were taken, we had our way with the groom...

At the Hilton dinner, we toasted to the couple's wedding!

We drank...

and drank... Notice WW is holding a wine glass now. And I'm drinking from the 'sabo' beer glass - beer with green chilli and vinegar and soya sauce. Eww.. The bride got pretty bored - felt left out of the drinking I think.

And when we have drunk, we have the courage to ask THE celebrity guest for a picture!

WWWedding
BFF married his LTGF.
I was one of his brothers.
Woke up insanely early for it. U know how your face is kinda bloated in the morning? From water retention... See pic... Sigh...

Anyway, nice to see him marry YZ. They're in Bali enjoying their honeymoon now!

Would have posted pics of the couple... but I'm still in the process of chasing people to send me the pics. Didn't take any pics of them together coz I was running around doing small errands for him.

Another nostalgic post
A Thanksgiving Feast!
We all worked hard preparing for and even harder during the Mission Trip to Cambodia. So when we all came back, we all descended to the best restaurant in town, at 72 Old Upper Thompson Road for a Thanksgiving Feast!
The perfect roast beef. Brown on the outside, pink and slightly bloody in the inside!

The chef of the restaurant at work. 3 Michelin stars for the feast he prepared!!

Savory bee hoon!

BBQ Wings

Spaghetti w mushrooms tossed in olive oil...

and roasted lamb leg!

Now, I've got 3 weeks to diet before CNY arrives and another round of feasting begins!

One Year On
Noah's Ark...
Here's the story of Noah's Ark.
There was a man named Noah. He was a good and godly man.

However, he lived in a world filled with evil people. (enter me as evil person!)

Now, one day, Noah heard God telling him that he was going to send a flood to destroy the world. He commanded Noah to build an ark to house his family. When the evil people saw Noah building the ark, they laughed at him because they thought he was mad!!

Noah tried to save some of his friends by asking him to come into the ark with him but they thought he was mad. Noah then gathered all the creatures of the world into the ark.

Then, Noah went into the ark and stayed there. A big storm came and it rained and rained for many days.

The evil people of the world drowned in the flood.

After many days, the rained stopped and the floods receded. Noah was glad and he rejoiced in the Lord. The animals all came out of the ark!

God showed Noah a rainbow, as a promise that he will never destroy the world like that again.

Toothbrushing Lessons
We also taught them the importance of keeping their teeth healthy.

Gave them a lesson on how to keep it healthy, what to eat,

It's a pity, their faces are pretty but their teeth so ugly.

What we can do is pretty limited. Without a dentist in the team and proper equipment, we can't do tooth extraction. Some teeth are so rotten...

So we had a practical lesson and taught them to brush their teeth. The state of oral health is pretty bad there. I hope to be able to do more in the next trips.
